Located in Wilson Cove, and protected by Sheffield Island, Tavern Island, and Bell Island, Norwalk Yacht Club is a casual and family-oriented sailing club. Established in 1894, the Club is tucked inside Greens Ledge Light in a quiet cove featuring a small beach. There is beautiful kayaking and paddle boarding through the Norwalk Islands, Village Creek and Farm Creek.
The Club mooring field accommodates sail and powerboats of varying drafts. Water and Ice are available on the docks where there is about 7 feet at low tide. The deck provides picnic tables and grills along with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views. Showers and an air conditioned great room are also available.
The launch brings visitors within an easy walk of the quaint town of Rowayton. Rowayton offers casual restaurants with good coffee, ice cream and sandwiches as well as more formal dining options, and access to provisions. Both Rowayton and historic SoNo are also easily accessible by cab.
We are located at 41 degrees 03' 50" North and 73 degrees 25' 50" West, inside Wilson Cove, north of Sheffield Harbor and Sheffield Island. Vessels approaching from the west should leave Green's Ledge Light to starboard, leave green can 1A to port and (or North) after Noroton Point and before green can #1. Vessels approaching from the east, typically exiting greater Norwalk in the main channel, should turn to starboard (or North) after green can #1. The club monitors CHF Channel 78A and responds to Norwalk Yacht Club.
